What to expect at your lash appointment

Updated: Nov 1, 2023

I know it can be daunting trying somewhere new, I'm here to ease that process and make you feel as comfortable as you can, before you even get here.

Central Clinic

The consultation

Once you've arrived, you will be brought into the clinic room where we will go over a consultation form. This goes into details about your eye history and anything I should know, eg. eye infections, disorders, medications, so on...

We will also touch base on your expectations and what type of lashes you're after, if you have absolutely no idea, that's OK! It's my job to examine my clientes eye shapes, lash health and then determine what would suit each and every client.

Styles and mapping

Once we have gone over what styling, curls, lengths and colours you're wanting. I'll then move onto mapping out your eyes, this is done with you sitting on the edge of the bed and me using an eyeliner pencil to mark out your eyes for your desired styling. This is to ensure that both your eyes will be even and symmetrical!

Lashing process

You will lay down on the bed, I will thoroughly cleanse your eyelashes and rinse them off. This removes any excess makeup, oils or dirt from your lashing ensuring longevity for your lash extensions. I will then put down soothing eye pads that sit on top of your bottom lashes and hold these down, then using a sharpie I will follow the mapping I did earlier to ensure the lashes are even.

Once I get into actually applying the lashes, you will feel me working on both eyes at a time. This is done to ensure that one eye is not fuller than the other! During this process most of my clients will fall asleep and that is the biggest compliment you can give any lash tech!! Knowing that you feel safe, relaxed and comfortable enough to get some beauty rest gives us lash techs the best feeling!

Finishing up

After finishing up, you will feel a mist over your lashes. This is to secure the bonds of the glue to your natural lash and means you are able to get your lashes wet almost immediately after you leave. I'll then dry your lashing, give them a final good brush through, remove the under eye pads and open your eyes!

Getting lash extensions shouldn't be a scary experience, its normal to be anxious before trying anything new but it's my goal here at Central Clinic to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible! You aren't just another lash client here, I always give myself enough time to ensure every client gets that special care and doesn't feel rushed in and out the door again!
